What's Your Favorite Color?

Colorful Summer Blouse

The colors I go for are ecru, white, gray, denim, and khaki green, Earth colors.

At the thrift store yesterday, I considered the blouse in the photo, (even though the colors aren't my usual). I held on to the summery blouse for a while before putting it back on the rack.

Yesterday, once again, I had forgoten my donations. On my return today with the donations, the jacket I wanted is there, but the skirt is gone. That's all right because I wasn't all that keen on the skirt anyway.

On the Tops rack, the blouse was still there. The colors are very flashy. But, I like every thing about the piece, including the colors. Frustrated by my indecision, I asked a shopper to help me decide between another top I was holding and the blouse. She chose the blouse. I said thank you, I will buy it. All I needed was a push over the edge. Laughing.

There it is draped over the edge of the sofa where I can see it. Now I'm deciding what to pants to wear with it. I'm also thinking about changing out the buttons.

Have you ever asked another shopper for their opinion?

    1. Kathy,
Why folks have a color they don't like interesting.
White isn't an easy color to deal with, stains and age tend to be harder on whites.
      Hugs!

  2. Sometimes I'm asked by someone at the thriftie who can't decide. Mainly I think they just want the encouragement to go for it.

    1. Liz,
Encouragement is a good way of putting it.
The funny thing about the choices, the other top's low saturation cool colors says autumn, but the blouse has autumn colors.
I'm not going back to buy the other one. I set a summer clothes limit, and it has been reached.

  3. I have asked for opinions about clothes, but I haven’t bought anything in ages. I hate the thought of clothes shopping, I like your new blouse!

    1. Marie,
The few times I've been in stores, the clothes shopping has been all about smaller sizes.
Stores are nowhere near the fun as thrift shops.
      Have a happy weekend!

Sunset colors are pretty. navy blue is a classy color.
Whie is my first thought. I have one pair left after dying the others. I'm thinking about picking up the light aqua in the pattern for a pair of shorts.

It is a nice combination red and blues. Autumn has a nice range of colors.

The blouse does have a cheerful vibe. That might be why I like it so much.
A weird discovery it is about myself.

  8. My favourites are the cool clear colours - mostly blues with white or ivory. I'm a rather solitary shopper, although I will happily accept advice from others.

Ivory is another classy color. Nothing goes wrong with ivory. In cotton crochet, it is spectacular.
Advice at that thrift shop I go to isn't unusual. I've heard and been given suggestions in the past.
I think that was my first time just asking a stranger for an opinion.

  9. Your blouse is cute, and it does look Springy! Yes, I've asked workers' opinions before when unsure about something. But in the end, I always choose what suits me best. I usually know right away if I like something or I don't. Have a lovely weekend, and it's great of you to give donations to the thrift store. I wish more people would do that.

    1. Sheri,
The last few years dropping off donations was a hassle as some places put in place certain days, at specific times. I think some folks might have given up and toss stuff rather than try to fit into a thrift store schedule.

  10. That all sounds like something I would do. That blouse is very pretty. It would look great with white pants (which I love on others, but don't own), or jeans (which I live in). I'd wear it with jeans. :)

The blouse will be worn with jeans more than any other color.
Jeans are in the sewing pile to be shortened and taken in to make peddle pushers for this summer.

  11. I'm glad you bought the blouse because I know you'll wear it a lot. Sometimes when we're considering purchasing something that's a little outside our 'safe' zone we need that second opinion to give us the incentive to go for it. As for favourite colours, I love blue the most, with purple and cool red next. Jewel tones are my favourites which, when I had my colours 'done' years ago, turned out to be the colours I should wear.

Jewels tones are very relaxing colors. For interiors especially, they can set a wondeful vibe in a room.
