Here we are with one week to go until the middle of August 2026! It is wild that summer is still going strong.
Good news today that my wrist continues to heal so well, I no longer need to wear the splint all the time. I can see my whole hand! π₯³ππΆπ₯π΅ππ€£ Time to get those perfect long fingernails chipped. π€£
For some reason, in the last month or so, using my cell phone for simple games, like mahjong solitaire, is aggravating because the screen either locks up or refreshes on its own to start a new game.
There are four websites I use. They all freeze up the page. One website regularly refreshes the page.
The daily painting set up process has been dented by a slight moving of stuff out of the corner where the drafting table will be. It is a new arrangement with a view to the outdoors. Note, a small room does not mean it is easy to arrange.
Mailing packages has been a real shocker. If you haven’t used USPS Priority flat rate boxes recently, then you might be shocked as well. A large USPS flat rate box costs $34.02 to ship (as of April 2926)! Last I remember it was $19.99.
I think it will be cheaper for me to drive to Massachusetts to drop off holiday stuff.
Have a Fun Weekend
Bake tomatoes & feta cheese
Sing something silly
Walk with friends
Draw a grasshopper
Have a large coffee frappe
Buy an ocean scented candle
Have dinner outdoors

I'm having a cold coffee drink....does that count? Folgers coffee, chocolate protein drink and a splash of milk. Yumo!
ReplyDeleteDiane,
DeleteYes, that counts. Happy Protein! Sounds refreshing

Good news on the wrist and splint. I haven't mailed things lately but Christmas is coming. You hit a point where it would be almost cheaper to drive it to its destination!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteIt is sad but true with mailing packages. Say there’s 5 people/packages X $34.02=$170.10!
A person could drive spend night in a cheap motel. Amazon Probably me looks attractive compared to shopping and shipping on your own.

Shipping flat rate is horrible. To add the boxes are smaller too.
ReplyDeleteNicole,
DeleteGood point. I was going to get another USPS large flat rate box, but decided no because it is so small.

It's always fun to sing something silly from time to time. ; )
ReplyDeleteSheri,
DeleteSometimes. Whenever I hear the chant, No Scotland, No party! It stays in my brain for days. π€£π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ

I haven't priced flat rate boxes here lately and must admit I'm afraid to. I hate using Canada Post so end up using UPS for sending parcels. They might be a little more expensive but at least there's hope of the parcel getting there. Most of our Christmas presents for the grandies are ordered from Amazon and delivered to their parents who are nice enough to wrap them for us. I don't like Amazon either but it's less costly overall than shipping ourselves.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteFor sure, Amazon shopping to shop direct is cheaper. I’m afraid here, the USPS will price themselves out of business.

Canada Post is pricing themselves out of business and are close to the same rate as UPS - and their service is terrible.
