Reflection Monday January 2014

Making Do
The first Monday of the first month of the year is an auspicious time to step into the solipsism self for a look around, and a look out. Does the world you see represent one you've created on purpose or by opportunity? Do you enjoy second hand furniture shops so much your home looks like one? Enjoy interior design magazines so much your home looks likes one? Somewhere in between used and new? But does what you see represent You?
I believe most people do the best they are able within their budget = this will do for now.
Mind you, I'm looking around my own environment when I think of these questions. Although I like what I see, what I see doesn't represent my ideal. I don't remember a time in my life when things have been just as I want them. I like easy going bungalow/cabin/cottage decor that is budget friendly. I have most of the elements. Therefore, what doesn't have a place for that decor will be tossed, donated or sold in order to refresh every day a place that is personal with personality.

  1. Dear Maywyn - I know about what you mean about decorating what is really you. Sometimes what happens to me is others buy things for me (very nice) but not really something I would select but don't want to hurt their feelings and I end up trying to find a place for what ever it may be. Good luck with your clean out and donating. Stay warm friend.

  2. Hello Debbie,
Today was strangely warmer than a January day should be in this neck of the woods.
Things to keep for various reasons can be packed away and unpacked. Its like finding new stuff.
    A warm week to you

  3. I would say my decorating is mostly me...My Frank has established spots that does not blend with mine and now my grandson Max is back for three months and his stuff is popping up here and there...LOL Whats a girl to do.? I am always cleaning and donating..my space is small with no room to store.

  4. Hi Dee,
Sharing space is better than not sharing. Enjoy the variety.
