A Saturday in January
There are days when going out and about is the very least appealling activity that I want to do. Today, for example. But, I know the outdoors is the healthy choice. Out I go.
This week's exercise outdoors was done the other day. No sense desensitizing myself by over doing it. I stay in the vehicle. Out and about is good no matter how far I go.

Beautiful views.
ReplyDeleteOn days off I have to push myself to go out and about.
We drove to the north shore today for a change of scenery. Great idea! It looks cold but beautiful where you are too.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
ReplyDeleteArriving home can feel better than usual after a push to get out.
There are times when hanging up my coat is thrilling.
Marie,
I look forward to seeing your photos.
Cold and beautiful out there today around the lake.
You chose a nice area to get out and about-loved the photos thank you for sharing
ReplyDeleteMaywyn such beautiful photos. That sunshine makes a cold winter day seem much warmer - even if it is not. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteOn these cold days I have to push myself to get outdoors for a walk. It is a healthy choice. Your landscape photos are beautiful, love the views of the water and mountains. The ducks do not mind the cold icy water. Take care, enjoy your day and the new week ahead. PS, thanks for visiting my blog.
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThe area is one of the only open to the public recreation areas that is easy walking, open, and plowed that I know of within a reasonable driving distance. The walking stretch at the visitor's area at Dead Creek isn't plowed.
Hugs Debbie!
ReplyDeleteOh the cold! The wind chill near the lake makes it even colder. Invigorating though. :)
Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Carol's blog. Your bird photos are a treat to see.
Nature is amazing for those ducks to be able to tolerate the icy water.
Beautiful photos-so nice to see the sun shine. I can't wait for warm weather so we can walk outside. That's my fav way to get out.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to drive in snowy conditions. I think that's great that you got out, even though you stayed in the car. It's cold where you and I live, but I really do love the Winters up here. I definitely want to visit Vermont someday. I heard the Winters are beautiful there.

Debra,
ReplyDeleteThere will be warm days between the cold ones. Walking outdoors!
Sheri,
I have my sights on California. Wherever it snows, it is beautiful.
Carol,
Being iutdoors does make a warm home feel cozier. :)
That looks pretty darned brisk, May -- but beautiful. There is something mesmerizing about mountains in the snow. And it'll be awhile before I see open water again!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteIf temperatures stay freezing, then the lake will have fishing huts on the ice in February. So far, it looks like the lake might not freeze over.
Same here.. mostly rainy days.
ReplyDeleteHi Hena,
ReplyDeleteFebruary, I suspect, will be snowy. I rather rain in moderation wait until temperatures are regularly warmer.
Some days I do not go out at all, but know that other days it's necessary. Sometimes, we take our dog on errands and one of us will wait with her while the other one runs into the stores. Our weather has been pretty mild so far this winter. We only got a little dusting of snow this morning for the first time this year.
ReplyDeleteNice photos!
