In Progress, Is Better Than No Progress

The 20.5 inch x 3.75 inch ink and acrylic drawing on watercolor paper glued to the stretched canvas is dated 2011.
As the cleaning and reorganizing my desk and easel area continues, taking a break to create art is refreshing.
I believe we always learn something from the art we create. This mixed media abstract is teaching me that not all my art needs to take so much thinking time.
I knew before I glued the drawing to the canvas, and began painting, the direction is to have fun pulling out from the drawing, elements that compliment the atmosphere of the drawing. At present, I'm considering adding found objects, small bits of functional stuff to glue on instead of painting all lines and shapes.

How is your Friday the 13th going?

14 January, Progress continues...

  2. William,
The snow there must be lovely.

Here in Vermont, Winter didn't put much effort today into making snow fall despite the forecast.

  5. The afternoon of Friday the 13th here was spent playing dominoes with friends at the senior center where we are all members. There was a large turnout and on a rainy and overcast afternoon, a lot of fun was shared, as well as some cookies😋

  6. Beatrice,
That is wonderful to have a senior center.
There are places in other towns, but not here.

  8. I'm glad Carol, you got outdoors.
Here, wind and cold, my fingers were freezing within the seconds before I put gloves on.

  9. We had our daughter/sil/grands over on Friday for tacos. It was fun!
Your colorful artwork is very cool. My arts/crafts space is a spare bedroom, and I'm thrilled to have it. Needs to be cleaned up right now though as it's so cluttered I can't really work in there.

  10. Mary,
    Have a happy declutter.

Clearing out a creative space is refreshing. It is also an adventure.
I'm still looking for my colored drawing inks. :)

  11. Yes, progress is better and I love the colors and the placement of the drawing, which is very fun. Keep adding till you decide you no longer want to!
