The Start of a Day

The above view from taking pictures.

Usually when reverse is accidently tapped, it is me above the lens.

The price of eggs is so high, I have oatmeal more often instead of scrambles and toast.

Oatmeal w/ dry fruit and
Coffee w/ stevia and Manuka honey

The day begins slowly. A meal waits until I feel unfolded, stretched and able to walk more than a few inches a minute.

This week is paper sorting, crafting, and outdoor exercise x 2 because last week was too cold for me to be outdoors for long.

Every morning, and throughout the day, I see the utentil drawer. It is an old friend, familiar, eclectic, only scattered and unorganized. See the alien face? That is not my reflection.

How does your day start out? Your week?

  1. I start slowly, not a morning person. Tea and something, pita bread with fruit, slowly changing into day clothes and eventually ready for the day.

  2. Liz,
Starting the day is an adventure all in itself.

  3. Thanks for sharing a little glimpse of your day. Your oatmeal and coffee sounds perfect for breakfast. Yes, I haven't made too many fried eggs lately.
    I love that coffee cup. ; )

  4. Sheri,
Oatmeal every other day ok. More than that causes digestion issues.
The cup is from Better Homes & Gardens, part of a set.

  5. I am not eating eggs much now either though I love them. I have blueberries and yoghurt these days. Yummy too though.

  6. Marie,
Yogurt around here disappears before dawn. I recently discovered peach cottage cheese.

  7. I'd always feel wary in a room with a fan.

  8. William,
It us over the dinning table. Sleep in a room under a ceiling fan is a no for me.

  9. I like to get a few things done before sitting down to eat breakfast and ponder a cup of tea. I unload the dishwasher, see my husband off to work (for just a couple more weeks until he retires), and often get a load of laundry started or some meal preparation for dinner. Then I'll make my breakfast - yogurt, blueberries, and almonds, or a scrambled egg and some cucumber. Morning is my most productive time. We're all different, and that's a good thing.

  10. Lorrie,
Your morning process sounds like good energy building to start the day.

  11. I love your "find the face" pictures. I had to embiggen the picture to fully see that it does look like an alien. Great find! My mornings begin with me sitting on the side of the bed stretching, trying to loosen joints. Then I sometimes heat up an eye mask and sit with that and a podcast for a while. I understand this help "dry eyes" and starting the morning slow feels really good anymore - especially in the winter.

  12. Becki,
Listening to podcasts in the morning sounds good. It has an around the kitchen table vibe.

  13. So far, so good this week. My friend is visiting from Canada and that's always fun.

How much are eggs where you are? I payed 3.59 for a dozen Monday -- and those were Extra Large. I didn't think that was too bad. Large was 3.39. Definitely higher than a year or so ago, but only by a dollar, which strikes me as less than some other things. (I have issues with cereal, but I know it's a wheat thing.)

  14. Jeanie,
Last egg purchase 2 weeks ago, $6.19. Checking eggs today, $4.49 to $7.99 at Shaw's. At least there's lower price options.
What bothers me about eggs is the size determination, small eggs labeled large is ridiculous. I meam small barely bigger than quail eggs.

Gas up couple of weeks ago $3.25/gal. The other day $3.49/gal. I have the feeling once a price increases. even when they can be lower, will remain high.
