A Chance To Be a Plant
A Different Seedling |
Bird seed?
In Spring it begins, the waiting to see what bulbs haven't been dug up by a squirrel or skunk. This year, a surprise appears early in a seedling tray as a leaf that doesn't match any seed I sowed. It isn't a bulb. The seed is roundish.
On the table where the trays are, I sometimes scoop out the bird seed from the bag. I suspect the seed bounced into a tray. I transplanted it into a frosting container. It deserves a chance to be the plant it was meant to be.
The Others |
Have you taken the chance to be who you are meant to be?
I'll be interested to see what that turns out to be.
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of a type of thick bladed grass the grew in a planter last summer. It had a cluster of seeds at the top.
So far, it is taking the transplanting well.
Squirrel gardeners are so busy.

You know...I think I am the person I was meant to be. In spite of some of the bad things that have happened to me, I am in a good place! It's good to give this thought from time to time and make sure you are on the right path! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou have that right, William. Squirrel gardeners. lol
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is awake. This week is last if bird seed. Bears will be waking up as well.
Diane,
ReplyDeleteYou are in a good place.
Great point! I hope I have…hmmm.
ReplyDeleteNow this will make a nice surprise when it grows Maywyn. It is always fun to not necessarily know exactly what is coming up next :)!! Have a wonderful day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMarie,
ReplyDeleteI had the same reaction after I posted the question. I'm still thinking. lol
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteAfter some research online, I suspect the plant is milett.
I wonder what it will be too. And how "grown up" it gets!
ReplyDeleteBecki,
ReplyDeleteI have the feeling it will add height to a flower planter.
I was going to suggest millet if it came from birdseed and I see you've already discovered that possibility.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
ReplyDeleteYes, millet is likely the plant. I remember last summer leaving a similat one to grow. It turned out to be millet. Strang though, birds didn't bothered with the seeds it produced.
