Cranking Up the Good Old Creativity
Journal Sketch |
A quick sloppyish sketch reminds me of how much fun creating art can be. During Spring cleaning, blank books given to me as a gifts, surface with a sparkle of happiness.
I expect an abundance of April showers this year. Rainy weather is inspirational to me, a time to be crafty creative with glue, scissors, and paint. Many of the stamped, painted, textured journal pages I see on blogs are small abstract artworks. Time for me to give artistic journal pages a try.
Raindrops Splashing |
In preparation for inclement Spring weather, a pair of rubber boots that don't leak was number one because all my other boots have leaks. My go to ballet flats soak up water like a sponge. Thus, it is likely I might be seen wearing shorts and unflattering rubber pull on ankle boots this summer. (I am grateful aging changes includes not being as picky about how I look fashion wise.)
What are your fashion plans for Spring? Are you prepared? Do you wear rain boots?
Fun sketch ~ wonderful to be creative ~

I can't wait to work on my art journals but when it gets hot, I am inside more so I'll wait. I don't have any rain boots but I might put on flip flops to walk around outside when it's wet!
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteBeing creative is as good as a spa day. :)
Diane,
ReplyDeleteArt journaling is nice for travels like yours. The Florida scenery is so inspiring!
It's snowing here today.
ReplyDeleteWith the high amount of snow we've received over the winter, it would be better to hold the rain away.
We've been getting those raindrops today, but they're mixed with high winds and ice pellets. No rain boots for me - if it's raining I just walk faster. Don't use an umbrella either.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
ReplyDeleteI pray for no flooding.
Maryanne,
ReplyDeleteWalk faster make me smile. I did that today.
Doodling is more my style than creative drawing, but admittedly I do very little of that for no special reason. My spring fashion plans are nil as now the goal is to work seriously, not scattered as in the past, on weight loss. Sadly, there are clothes that can no longer be worn, but which are of better quality than could be bought now. Thankfully, my pair of rain shoes are without holes.😀
ReplyDeleteBeatrice,
ReplyDeleteGood point, quakity clothes are keepers until the last to go.
I keep a small stash of jeans for my lost weight future.
A way to weight loss is to not be overwhelmed by news reports on studies of foods to stay away from. I get so worried, it throws me off good choices.
I enjoy journaling but there's no art or sketches in mine. Rain boots are handy. I have a bright red pair for stomping around our yard.
ReplyDeleteI do have boots in case it rains and always keep an umbrella handy (although don't always use it).
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Loree,
ReplyDeleteA regular journal is also my go to daily writing.
The art additions are for the blank book now and then entries.
Jan,
ReplyDeleteA few umbrellas handy here, back and forth to car thing.
I also use them as parasols to block the sun.
I remember some red rubber boots from when I was little. Somewhere I have a great picture of myself and a sister, I think in matching raincoats, hat and boots. I need to find that!
ReplyDeleteBecki,
ReplyDeleteA raincoat, umbrella and pull over our shoes rubber boots were a must have in our wardrobe. We walked to school threw rain, sleet, and sometimes a snow flurry.
Fashion plans? I'm not sure I've ever had fashion plans (apart from just having ordered a summer skort from Land's End and needing new walking shoes). I do have to get SOMETHING (a dress, nice dressy pants?) for a May wedding. It will be the first time I haven't bought what I call leisure wear (sweatshirts, swim suits, slippers) in ... a decade, maybe?
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteHappy dress shopping
As we age, I believe, comfy clothes take over. I think I own one or two dresses.
