Cell Phone Finger
Cell Phone Finger |
Really? Is there such a thing?
Yes. You probably do have one if you hold your cell phone in your hand a lot.
I notice on my left pointing finger, on the outer side, a roughish dry area. I am right handed.
I didn't realize until today the patch is callous from holding my cell phone! The device rests from the middle finger joint up to the side of the fingernail.
Searching the Internet, I read there can be a callous area on the pinky finger as well. Think sliding pinky under for stability.
There are finger guards online for sale. Gamers use them. Sewers use them. Office workers use them.
I think I will make and bead a few to wear as jewelry.
I used to have a lot of hand pain with my tablet until I made a pillow type stand, so it rests on my lap without being held. These little devices get heavy.
ReplyDeleteLiz,
ReplyDeleteA hand pillow is a good idea.
I have a keyboard cushion band that helps when typing. I also have a phone and tablet stand like the kind you can attach to a car's dashboard.
Incredible how someone finds a need and fills it to make money!
ReplyDeleteMarie,
ReplyDeleteGood old fashion ingenuity.
The rubber fingers are great to use sorting through dozens of reports and invoices.
I've never heard of cell phone finger -- but then I avoid my phone as much as possible!
ReplyDeleteI can't hold my cell phone for very long - too painful. I guess the upside is I'm not developing any callouses from it. :)
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteIt is good you don't use your phone a lot.
Using a phone to play games, I believe, hastens the development of callouses.
Becki,
ReplyDeleteGood point!
I hold my phone with my dominant hand, the left, and use my right index finger for tapping.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
