First Trip to the Garden Center
Begonia |
Hibiscus |
Hydrangea |
Pansies |
The USDA chart
has 5 zones in Vermont.
I live in the western edge
southward for zone 5a.
I bought two pansy 6 packs.*
I've seen snow on pansies.
Check your zone before planting.
*Middlebury Farm & Garden Center
is my favorite place
for the plant variety, quality,
prices and service.

Oh, I love the garden centers. We don't have one in this small mountain town, but I hear there's one in the next town over. So glad you got a chance to visit your garden center. There's always so many things to see. And those begonias! What a pretty Spring color.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid Spring week, my friend.

Ah, I miss the days of spending hours trolling through garden centers. Now we have no need beyond getting a few herbs but that's not to say I don't always make a quick trip through the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy visiting our local garden centres.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers here, the hydrangea is such a beautiful colour.
All the best Jan
beautiful plants, I want to go to the amish greenhouse soon-hoping next week to go
ReplyDeleteThere are SO many pretty flowers even at Walmart right now. It sure is hard to pass them by. We are trying to have plants that don't require a lot of care though. We have lots of knock out roses and shrubs.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty blooms on this beautiful spring morning. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSheri,
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time visitong the garden center.
If I only had a yard to landscape. I saw trees there with lovely flower buds that I'd love to buy.
Maryanne,
ReplyDeleteGarden centers have something for everyone. They are good spring therapy.
Jan,
ReplyDeleteThe hydrangea there are stunning. It is amazing how well they bloom.
Kathy,
ReplyDeletePlease, take lots of plant pictures when you visit the greenhose. I've not seen an Amish run greenhouse.
Diane,
ReplyDeleteGood plan
After the heat waves last summer, I'm leaning to fewer and less care gardening this year.
Marie,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the ocean awakening to Spring!
These are pretty.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
ReplyDeleteIt was like being at a botanical garden.
Huh. I just checked a USDA Plant Hardiness Zone map and see that Indiana is divided nearly in half between zones 6 and 5. Being south of Indy, we live in Zone 6a, but there's a fickle little spot right about where we live that is Zone 5b (completely surrounded by Zone 6a). No wonder I am confused every spring about when it's time to start planting anything!
ReplyDeleteBecki,
ReplyDeleteThink geology, lay of the land. If you live in a hollow, there might not be as much sunshine in the lower sections. Thus, a different zone.
Where my parents use to live (when living) it could be a winter wonderland when a mile down the road the ground is bare.
