The U.S. Constitution vs Social Media

Think about it...

The Founding Fathers had no Internet or no social media.

The 1st Amendment weeps when people use it to stir up violence and hatred.

If there are people that don't see what a danger it is to society that there are no laws in place to stop a person or persons from using the Internet to rally others to engage in violence, then it is crucial that the CDC begins a serious investigation as to how the STUPID virus infected so many Americans.

Does it spread so rapidly through telepathy?

By using the Internet?

Cell phones?

Air frequencies?

The media?

  1. I think I shared a quote on my blog awhile ago that said 'you can't fix stupid' and how true that is. I think the element of anonymity that is on the internet allows people to let their idiocy loose because they know there's no fear of reprisal. Then, after they get really comfortable with that, they feel that it's okay to act that way everywhere. I don't understand that mentality at all.

  2. So many issues these days with respect to the Internet and social media. Smarter people than I will have to sort that one!

  3. Maryanne,
    I agree with you.

Mark Twain's quote on stupid is a favorite...
"Don't argue with stupid people because they will only drag you down to their level, and then beat you with their experience."

  5. I once had a guy threaten to kill me over a casual remarkable on social media.

It was bad enough that he had an unpleasant warning from the Mounties not to venture east of the Rockies.

  6. William,
    Prayers for your safety
    That is scary.
Nobody has threatened to kill me since my first ex, that I know of.

  9. This is a scary world. I am amazed at the lies people believe. I better not go into it. I am taking a nice break from the computer other than to check email, and occasionally a blog-check, and the time away has been refreshing.

  10. Debra,
    Enjoy your refreshing!

I'm taking a mental health day. I wanted to drive to nice scenery. As I thought about it, the more I wanted to go home.
