June 2023, Day 153 of Week 22

Ninebark Shrub Flower

Rain is in the Vermont forecast for later today.
With plenty to do indoors, inclement weather,
(somewhat hot this week),
isn't a bother for me. I don't have activities
to engage in that can't be postpone
until better weather arrives.

This weekend, I plan to make my own
red pepper relish from scratch,
without a recipe.
Please wish me well

  2. William,
So far, no rain here as yet.
I hope y'all get the rain you need.

  3. We're in need of rain here but none in the forecast in the immediate future. There's a burn ban in place right now and hopefully we can avoid the forest fires that are rampant in the western provinces and also in Nova Scotia.

  4. Prayers no fires and Nova Scotia gets rain

    Maryanne,
No rain here as yet despite forecast.
Nice to see the Moon though

  5. Yeah, we had a couple of downpours late in the afternoon and luckily we were already at home from our dominoes game. We bought a small watermelon to be enjoyed this weekend in place of ice cream which we are avoiding for a while as we like it TOO much. I called a friend on her 96th birthday and sent flowers as well.
Also wrote note cards to several others.

  6. What a pretty flower photo. We are supposed to get rain next week also. I haven't bought a watermelon yet this season, thanks for the suggestion. And a fun watermelon and cat photo.

    Happy June!

  7. I hope to hear about your hot pepper relish, May. How did it turn out? What do you eat it with? I'm not a big relish person, but I'm curious about something that sounds so different from anything I've imagined relish to be.

  8. Happy 96th Birthday to your friend!

Rain didn't reach us as hoped.
Later this week will make up for the loss last week here.

  9. Sheri,
This week strawberries are on the agenda. A whole watermelon is also a plan. :)

  10. Becki,
Shopped for the veggies yesterday. Forgot to buy jars! lol
Not preserving, but still nice to have containers. Peeked at a couple of recipes. Decided not to add zucchini, too watery. Will post results tomorrow.
