I'm not familiar with the white cosmos. Summer is my least favorite season, but there is always something about each season to enjoy. Have a pleasant week.
Seeing a white flower always reminds me of my mother. She absolutely hated white flowers (although loved the trilliums, go figure) and would promptly haul them out of the garden, claiming they were 'funeral flowers'. I suspect some of that might have stemmed back to seeing so many of her friends die from TB when she was in the sanitarium herself. She spent four years there when she was in her late teens.
Maryanne, Your mother must have had a terrible time there, and at such a young age. I believe you are right about funerals. It was decades before I could stand the scent of carnations after my younger sister's funeral flowers.
I have never seen a white cosmos-pretty I love any colors of cosmos
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bloom. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteKathy,
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the season, I will send you some white cosmos seeds.
Cosmos that reseed themselves, eventually have varigated colors.

ps.....I like the name Harvard too. Thanks for sharing. : )
ReplyDeleteSheri,
ReplyDeleteHarvard has a solid power female vibe. Whatever name is chosen, it will be beautiful.
Least favorite season for me is spring aka mud season.
