A Bit of Brrr
At Sunrise 8 January 2024 |
Brrr.
A dusting of snow last night covers the bird seed. Thus, requiring a shovel off, I'm out there early, later than the birds, but early. The light is dull on the photograph. In person, the air is clear enough to show sharp outlines. In the cold, I have to be careful to not breath too close to the lens or else it will fog up the scene a bit.
Why is it when I Google clouds, nearly all the images don't represent the formation I'm searching for? The clouds in the background are clearly stratus, (estimating below 6000 feet). If you have an accurate description, then please leave a comment. Thank you
Happy Bubble Bath Day!
I need to stock the feeder tonight and well. We're due for snow in the overnight. It feels (and looks) like it could be sooner!
ReplyDeleteThe cold today goes through to the bones. Brrr…I shivered so much I didn’t notice the clouds.
ReplyDeleteIf it's brrr outside, good excuse to celebrate Bubble Bath Day. Hunkering down here for a predicted storm heading our way tomorrow.

Jeanie,
It looks like the snow will start in your area as forecast.
If you have friends going west every 2 or 3 hours, and let each other know when the snow starts where they are, then you can figure out when it will arrive where you are.
I worked on customer service phones many years ago. We could tell if it was snowing in Buffalo, New York, how soon we had to get home, except for a 1983 blizzard. That storm system moved faster than usual.
Marie,
ReplyDeleteIt is a bone chilling cold. Stay warm!
My new coat, however, nary a tiny bit of chill. I'm amazed how warm it is. I trim the fur lined hood though. The fur was so wild, ot was in my face. I had icicles lining my face. lol
It's chilly here today, too, with cold rain in place of snow. Snow at least lightens and brightens the landscape, all this rain makes it look dreary. Stay cozy!
ReplyDeleteLovely sun rise winter photo ~ elegant ~ hugs

37 when I went to work this morning at 6 and 38 when I left at 9 due to a broken boiler in the office. Was not staying there freezing my butt, so went back home and worked. Brr for sure Janice
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
ReplyDeleteA nice hot bubble bath is perfect for a winter soak.
Storm on the way here for tomorrow night as well.
Lorrie,
ReplyDeleteWinter rain is no treat in the cold climates. The possibility of ice is scary.
Stay warm!
Carol,
ReplyDeleteYour snow on the screen door photo is a delight
Hugs!
Janice,
ReplyDeleteI hope the boiler is fixed. That's no fun in winter to have heat problems.
Of course working from home is a treat.
Your snow photos below are wonderful. Looks like you got a good share of snow. I want to thank you for your big font also. Wish more of my blog friends had it. It makes it easier for tired eyes to read the posts. : )

Sheri,
ReplyDeleteThe font is Libre Baskerville.
I like how bright the color is. There are several fonts that are so pale, they're difficult to see.
I wish I had the font as an option on my email program.
More snow is on the way today.
