For This Week ...

There are no flowers on the table.

Time to buy another bouquet.

Looking in another container, envelope, closet or drawer is reaching its peak with me. Thus, this week I will be doing more things like changing passwords, checking old email addresses, transfering info to a new address book, and, overall, getting outdoors more.

There is only so much sorting a person can do at home before wanting to run away from it all feels like a good idea.

The biggest project this week, however, is to sort old costume jewelry.

Second, is to sew up a few things.

Third, take at least 3 walks outdoors.

In between all that will be art and naps.

Does your week go better when you plan it out?

  3. I love costume jewelry. I love to take it apart and revamp it to something else.

  4. I have a general idea of what I will do each day but don't stress about it if it doesn't happen.
Good luck with all the sorting.

  5. That's some cute jewelry you have. I know what you mean, I've been going through old papers and throwing things out, and I gave away a few things as well. It's always nice to treat ourselves to something new when we get rid of old. I love how you get out there often and walk, especially in the cold Vermont winters. That's impressive.

To answer your question...I have things that are on my calendar that I have to take care of sometimes, but I do not like to plan out my weeks at my age. I'm getting to the point where I don't like schedules or appointments, etc. I guess I'm just a free bird not wanting to be caged haha. But sometimes we have to take care of those pesky things that come up.

Have a blessed week, my friend.

  6. I do not plan out my week, except if there is an appointment or event. This week, it's the annual car inspection and an oil change (hopefully nothing else), a trip to the local library for free mah jongg class, and a library meeting to learn about a renovation project. And, I have been spending several hours today catching up on blog reading, regretfully there's not enough time to comment on every post of daily bloggers.

  7. Becki,
I've started building a pile of costumer jewelr this morning.

    Marie,
    So true!
I can't go through old jewelry without putting on a necklace or two. lol

Good attitude. I also don't stress if I miss something I planned. Free flow with guidance is my rule.

  8. Sheri,
Your attitude about being free is wonderful.
I also find less and less enthusiasm for appointments.

No clock in the bedroom, I began sorting things paying no attention to the time. Hungry, I get up to fix lunch and see it is almost 2 PM! I was in there sorting for about 3 hours.

  9. Beatrice,
Catching up on blog reading does take time.
If I miss a post, then I just go with the most recent, and then read back later what I've missed.

  10. I don't know if it goes better (sometimes!) but I do get more done, especially the things that are so easy to put off! I'm with you on the jewelry. I did one pass on that; it needs another.

  11. Pam,
It is a good idea to reuse the old jewelry. The beads make nice hat bands.

  12. Jeanie,
The problem with culling old costume jewerly is the memories they hold. I'd love to have my old pop beads from the 1960s and my elephant hair ring.

  13. When I was engrossed in crazy quilting I'd buy bags of mixed costume jewelry at the thriftie, simply for the beads. Far cheaper than buying them in the store and often a whole lot prettier too. I'd go through the bags and take out what I wanted and then donate the rest back to the thriftie.

  14. Maryanne,
Back donating to thrift stores is a good way to recycle stuff. I love to see bagged up jewelry and fabric scraps.
