Day 48 of Week 7 February 2024

Nest Feathers
Puttering can create quite a mess when you sort through things that have been left alone, minding their own business, not on your radar, neglected.

First thing this morning, I decided, as if in a trance, to make sure all the laptop photo folders are on a memory stick. Compared briefly to what is on my computer versus a (10 year old) laptop, the laptop has more pictures. I have also learned that the laptop download speed is very slow.

After a couple of hours sorting and such on an partly cloudy Saturday morning, I think it is time to put the photo orgnaizing away. There's plenty more to do later.

Have a Photo Happy Weekend!

Play a board game with friends
Take a walk with a love one
Dance to the radio
Bake a custard pie
Browse sandals online
Write a funny story
Find a new recipe
Sing to your kitchen sink

  1. I think it would be more fun to dance to an old song!

  3. You have given us a great list of fun things to do on this winter weekend. Your photo of the baby bird is oh so sweet. Had to smile about your 10 year old lap top because mine is eleven and yes it is slow but it still works well. Just bought a new one because didn't have any support for windows seven and needed to upgrade. So will be starting a new photo library on my new one. Take care and have a wonderful weekend friend. Hugs!

  4. Happy New Laptop, Debbie!

At the store, I didn't see the word flash drive or memory stick. A clerk helped me. I had the right thing, but it only say Drive on it. I felt like a dinosaur it has been so long since I bought a flash drive. lol

  6. Oh, that is a very good idea. I know we've done this at least once, but I'm sure it's time for backing up photos again. Thanks for the reminder, May.

  7. Marie,
The sparrows loved splashing around in that old clay augratin dish. In the shade, the water stayed cooler.

  8. Becki,
It boggles my mind how many pictures can accumulated when not sorted regularly more than once a year.

  9. I've lost many photos over the years for not doing proper transfer/storage, etc.

I started a puzzle a while ago, but couldn't get back to it. Yesterday, my husband was working on it so maybe there's hope I'll jump back in soon!!

  10. Mary,
Lost photos is a problem when sorting folders.

    Have fun puzzling!

  11. I've been puttering a lot and doing a lot of photo editing. And genealogy research for Rick. Now it's time to clean the kitchen!

  12. Jeanie,
Kitchen cleaning sounds like a good idea for mine as well.
I also have a squash on the counter that needs baking.

    Have a wonderful week!

  13. I have to brave the computer area of the store to try to locate a memory stick sometime this week. I keep putting it off because I don't want to have to go and ask for help for something that is a no-brainer for most people. All I want it for is to download a business card design so I can take it back to the store to get them printed. I should be able to just load the design directly to the store website but that requires more brain power than I seemingly possess.
There must be something in the air because I've started a houseclean of my blog trying to remove a ton of links that mostly are no longer live. Decided that any links prior to 2022 will be taken off the blog but didn't realize it was going to be such a massive undertaking.

  14. Maryanne,
At a local drug store, the USB Drive, Flash Drives are close to the check out counter near their photo section. I think a 16 GB card is all you'll need for one logo.
I paid $12.99 for 16 GB. I need ten times that, but I'm not cool with spending the money on too many pictures of clouds. I delete the jetsum before I transfer pics to a flash drive.

About old links. Consicer leaving the destination website's name to give folks the opportunity to find the wonderful items you've found. You can do little by little or just leave as is. Most of use know old links might not be current.

  15. Found the USB drive at the business store and took the business card design in to be printed this morning. Shocked at the sheer cost AND at the fact that the technician monkeyed with the artwork changing it to 'suit their system'. I ordered some cards but the next time I'll be looking elsewhere.
As for the links - I'm being choosy in which ones I'm deleting and keeping a few that I know are still current.

  16. Maryanne,
Having content adjusted without permission is a major source of aggravation.
My first name is hyphenated. Computers don't recognize the hyphen. Thus, my first name became all one word.

  17. Oh, the cost of business cards online is surreal.
