Buds, Videos & the Gimbal
White Lilac Tree Budding 2024 |
The trees and shrubs are often neglected for photographs when they are budding. This year I set out deliberately with my old Samsung phone to take pictures of the bits of green showing.
I was disappointed in the many pictures I took. The photo above is heavily edited. I use the Samsung cell phone camera because it is so easy to upload the images to my computer; and, it takes much better pictures than my iphone 13, way better. Unfortunately, the cell phone LCD screen doesn't display well enough for me to take quick pictures that will turn out well.
At present, I'm still heavy into daily watching YouTube wild camping videos. There are about a half dozen campers that I regularly watch with 3 of them being the most watched. It takes talent to put together a good video. The 3 that I watch a lot are excellent video creators.
Are there homemade videos that you regularly watch?
What do you look for in a video the most (that makes for good viewing)?
Crocus 2024 |
Music. If the music is too loud, overly dramatic, or just does not fit the atmosphere of what the films is about, the entire video can become not so great to watch.
Talking. If there is too much talking going on, then it interferes with my enjoyment of the scenery.
Sadly, there's a wonderful YouTube channel of travelers who hike, that just about describes every detail of what is being filmed. As in writing, don't hog the audience experience. Show, don't tell thing.
I watch several YouTube channels by people doing their own videos and post production. I hate the music some people think you have to have all the time. Especially on crafting channels where I just want to see the techniques, and the teacher sometimes speaks, so muting doesn't work. But there are wonderful creators, Ant, Atomic Shrimp, Ash, Marion, Bernadette, Katrina. I like all of them.
ReplyDeleteLiz,
DeleteI will give their channels a look.
Some of the music is like a dripping water torture.
I so love the crocus flower. The first flower of Spring here. I watched many flosstube (cross stitch) videos when I can. Janice
ReplyDeleteJanice,
DeleteThank you. Floss Tube is a wonderful channel. I look forward to watching their videos.
I with you regarding the talking. Less is best!
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteFor sure!
Thankfully on some channels I can turn down the chatter.
I don't think there are any influencers or youtubers who I watch with regularity. Those bud photos are lovely and full of hope.
ReplyDeleteHena,
DeleteRegular watching is in waves that eventually phase out to another channel to watch. The traveling aspects are great to see.
Lovely photos of the crocus and lilac buds ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteps. Occasionally watch 'how to's' videos on You Tube
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Carol,
DeleteThat's interesting because how to blog posts are the ones that have higher visitor counts.
Hugs
Lovely bud photos. Thanks for sharing. Wonderful Post! Have a great day!

Thank you Jyoti
DeleteA nice day to you as well
I really don't watch home videos much (except our own!). I think I overdosed on video when I worked. I love seeing tree buds -- in photos or real life!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
DeleteThe video format is what television now feels like it is transforming into. Video...live stream...when we feel like watching versus what is scheduled viewing.
I love all the wonderful spring greens that will soon be happening here....so many different variations on the colour and it's all too fleeting.
ReplyDeleteAs for videos - I must admit I can't be bothered for the most part. I would far rather be playing with fabrics and threads than watching videos however interesting they might be. If I want to learn a technique I much prefer written instructions accompanied by pictures, rather than a video format.
