Day 104 of Week 15 April 2024

What happens more often than not, is that when I'm ready to go out and about, so is the rain. Earlier, the sun was shinning. Then the clouds became thick, low and darker like the solar eclipse as totality nears. There is no way I'm going back and forth packing up donations and transfer station drop offs in the pouring rain. Minutes later, the room brightens. I see a sliver of blue sky in the southwest. I hear no rain. This is how it will be for a few days as a massive storm system plumps up Earth in the Spring.
Ah, more blue sky appears.
Too late, I don't feel like packing up and traveling today.
Puttering rules my daylight hours now.

Have a Puttering Good Weekend!

Start an Idea log book
Make coffee syrup
Memorize a song
Paint a harbor scene
Browse hiking sandals online
Buy a new ice cream flavor
Read about tin mining
Go for a walk with a friend
Make a pinwheel

Later this afternoon...
The wind is howling!
Rain is beating against the windows.
The trees are swaying back, forth and around.
The sky is dark enough to need the lights on indoors.
I was sitting out on the porch a few minutes ago. The wind was lovely with the air just the right humidity and temperature.
My toes were happy in my favorite sandals.
I went back inside just in time.

    1. Debbie,
I think that pouring rain has made it to Vermont!
It is storming out there as I type.
      Have a fun weekend!

  2. With a week of rain behind me, I feel like your description above - only we never had any sunshine (after Monday). I also somehow managed to miss the downpours in my errands. A week of sunshine forecasted ahead!

  3. Becki,
Missing the rain when doing errands is not a skil I have.
I did, however, make it dry out and about this afternoon. I call it a miracle.
    Have a fun weekend!

  5. We had that pouring rain all night, all morning, then amazingly it cleared up and I got out. With an umbrella for insurance.

    1. Liz,
Umbrella weather is all right when it is warming up. I hope you don't have flooding there.
There's quite a bit of rain in the next few days here.

  6. Dull and rainy here all day and fairly windy too. Not supposed to be much better for the weekend. The idea of making coffee syrup sounds like a good thing - to go along with the new flavour of ice cream we came home with today (Cappuchino flavour....yum!!!).

    1. Maryanne, Cappuchino! What brand ice cream? It isn't easy to find a good cappachino.
This weekend is rainy here as well.
      Stay dry!

    2. Sadly you won't be able to get this ice cream - it's a local dairy that is rapidly expanding but sadly not yet into the US.

    3. Hopefully the flavor will spread to Vermont ice cream makers.

  7. I would love to see a storm like that! We don't often get storms here - just gentle rain. Sometimes wind, and I love it when it blows wild. A puttery weekend here, too.

    1. Lorrie,
Rain storms like that are dramatic.
Wind is a favorite of mine, as long as the patio furniture doesn't race across the lawn.

  8. Our weather hasn't been steady here either. It was sunny for a few days, and it's been overcast today and supposed to rain this weekend. You'll get to the donation center, and it's so good that you're doing that. Have a lovely Sunday. It is really my favorite day of the week now. No errands or appts.....just peace. ; )

  9. Rain can certainly be a deterrent when things need to be done, and it has rained more often than not here in NH as well in recent days and weeks. When that happens, I will just wait for another day and stay indoors and dry.

    1. Beatrice,
Stay dry indoors on rainy days is perfect.
I don't dislike rain. The clouds can be interesting. The excess of day after day is boring though.
