Thinking of Spring
Forget-me-not |
The background photograph of forget-me-not was taken several years ago in my tiny flower garden. The plant was a stray inside the shrubs that I transplanted. Alas, it bloomed a few years before it didn't bloom again.
Lately I've been pondering style, mine as well as the world around me. I'm not up with fashions, the shopping scene. I don't go anywhere that I need to look all spiffy. As long as I'm comfortable, and like what I'm wearing, there's no struggling with what to wear that I have to deal with. Why I'm spending time (again) thinking about my style is a mystery to me. I guess seeing the beautiful spring flowers makes me want to look nice as well.
About the world around me, in a rural area, the colors of spring are beyond inspiring and beautiful. A well put together spring outfit Mother Nature does for herself here in Vermont.
What about you? Do you lean toward sprucing up your wardrobe in the spring?
I aim to look clean, mainly! I do like picking out each day's outfit, which is the same kinds of things in different colors.
ReplyDeleteLiz,
DeleteThe same things is a great wardrobe! Fit rules!
There's always one or two tops that I love the style of. One day I'll make a pattern from them. They will be the only tops I'll wear.
I can’t tell you the last time I bought new clothes. Comfortable and clean is all the fashion I need.
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteComfortable and clean is a good description.
My Spring sprucing up has involved getting another waterproof jacket ;o) it is still cold and chilly here but I am so looking forward to changing my 'uniform' to short sleeved t-shirts from long sleeved t-shirts and wooly jumpers. The sun has had little moments of flirting with us but has quickly disappeared. Your forget-me-nots remind me of my Granny's garden - good memories whenever I see them. Wishing you sunshine.
ReplyDeleteLisa,
DeleteI hope your find the jacket you want. There is a lot out there that are really pretty.
I usually shop for clothes at thrift stores-so my closet is very full. I always love to look at clothing. Not sure if I have a style or not.
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteThrift store clothes are the best!
You can find almost anything at a thrift store. The problem I have is buying too much. :)
I, too, do most of my clothing shopping at the thrifties but now am really trying to live by the one in, one out rule if only to keep the status quo. I should really changed that to one in, two out but don't want to do anything too hasty!
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteThat is a good rule to have.
It would be so nice to get the laundry down to one clothing load. Following you rule would help make that happen.
Neverending story ~ the in/out ~ Lovely spring time post and photo ~

DeleteThat's the truth.
Winter stuff is piling up to put away.
Hugs!
I may buy a couple of new shirts, but thats all. I really dont care about the fashion trends. I tend to buy what I need and nothing else. I dont like to spend money on clothing fads. Janice
ReplyDeleteJanice,
DeleteClothing fads when young are fun to follow. I agree, spending money on clothing fads isn a no for me as well.
Well, I wanted to get a new dress for my trip coming up. It's always nice to wear something new for a special occasion. But on the whole, I don't have an abundance of clothes in my closet, and that's Ok. The ones I have are the ones I wear. What a pretty forget me not photo. I've always wanted a garden filled with forget me nots.
ReplyDeleteHave a pleasant weekend.

Sheri,
DeleteShopping for dresses is fun.
I've been looking around. There are good styles out there. Sadly though, Amazon appears to have the best variety and prices.
Even when I tell myself I don't need more clothes, and even though I don't enjoy shopping very much, I do find myself in the spring and autumn, looking at/for something new to make my clothing choices more interesting and suitable for the season. The thing I often second guess about my wardrobe are summer pants. I would wear jeans or stretchy pants every day of my life, but it seems every year I go on the hunt for some pants that are actually comfortable in the heat. It's often an exercise in futility and I just start looking forward to autumn again.
