What's Been Going On
Black bean chili is on the stove. A spicey meal with nachos and melted cheese is in order here.
It has been a slowish borderline-ish meh week for me.
There has been some wonderful weather. Sitting outdoors, I have to be cautious not to fall asleep. What a struggle it can be to not allow the wind and sunshine to lull you into dozing off.
I have much catching up to do with blog reading and commenting. The bright sun out today ecourages me to garden some between being online. There are also boxes to fill with things to mail and donate. Puttering has produced a lovely variety of tasks that won't go away with me in a chair daydreaming or watching YouTube videos.
How is your week going?
Prayers for everyone in the path of bad weather

I just have to accept that in the shade with a lovely wind and the sound of trees, I will certainly fall asleep at some point and wake up wondering where I am!
ReplyDeleteLiz,
DeleteMay I suggest wearing a mosquito net hat when dozing off to keep the bugs away.
I'm on the hunt for a new patio chair this year. The old one has a thick mesh fabric that is finally,
after about 15 years, tearing. I have a net hat and nets for over hats.
chili sounds good and the house always smells awesome when i cook it!! i am having a good week, going to see my great nieces after they are done with school!! a lot of people have been affected by this terrible weather and storms, i have them in my thoughts as well!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
DeleteSafe travels!
Have a good visit. The weather will get better eventually. :)
Your soup sounds delicious, May. And a nap outside sounds lovely. I've been putting a garden in in little bits here and there. Today, I purchased some plants, and hopefully this weekend I will feel up to a big push putting them in the ground. Supposed to be perfect temps.
ReplyDeleteBecki,
DeleteGardening soil and planters are waiting for a warm day with sunshine. It turn a bit chilly here the last couple of days.
Your black bean chili looks delicious. I love a good chili, especially with corn bread. I made some corn bread today. Your weather sounds very nice lately. It seems like there is always something to do with bills and house work and laundry, etc. It's nice to rest once in awhile. Your outing in the sun sounds wonderful.

Sheri,
DeleteBlack bean chili is a favorite. In the winter, I might make it every week.
Black bean chilli sounds like a great idea for tomorrow. Thank you for the idea.
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteBlack bean chili travels well, inside and out. Even cold, it tastes good with a chunk of bread.
Your black bean chili looks good.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a beautiful day of sunshine today, so lovely to be out and about and enjoying a walk.
All the best Jan
Jan,
ReplyDeleteYour weather sounds perfect.
I was nice here as well, but then the temperature dropped. I'll sit outdoors anyway if the sun is out.
Chili is a favourite winter-time dish here and there's pretty much always a few containers in the freezer ready to pull out when comfort food is needed. Resident Chef fills our freezer in the fall with soups and chili so if some sort of plague befalls us we know there's something easy to eat.
ReplyDeleteI really wish I could be an outdoor sitter, but when the weather is the perfect temperature it means the trees are doing 'something' and that makes my allergies flare up. Being in the sun isn't a good thing either because it ends up making me itch (heat rash I think). Sure curtails a lot of outdoor activities.
