Lovely Yarrow

Wild White Yarrow in June

Not far from the milkweed at the Dead Creek Visitor's Center on Route 17 in Addison, Vermont are small patches of wild yarrow,

In my planter I have Pink Grapefruit yarrow. A flower bed out front has red yarrow. Yarrow is a wonderful perennial. The older I become, the more I love easy to care for perennials.

  1. I'm with you on perennials. More and more! I love my flower garden from seed, but it's getting a bit strenuous.

    1. Liz,
There is a flower similar to yarrow that is yellow. I bought it for my mother as a present. Her husband was not happy chasing it around. Made me laugh. It even grew up out of the gravel driveway.

  2. The yellow yarrow plant grows all over at the nearby creek. It's so pretty to look at in Spring. The pink grapefruit yarrow sounds lovely.

Wishing you wonderful July days. It's supposed to be pretty warm this week.

The pink grapefruit yarrow is a medium pink at peak, then fades to a soft pink. I'll post a photo tomorrow.
The temperature here today went into the high eighties!

  3. Love yarrow. It reminds me of my youth and the wildflower which grew everywhere.

    1. Marie,
Back in the 1980s there was an article in I believe, Woman's Day magazine, about drying white yarrow, and then dye it with food coloring. The bouquet picture i cut out for my desk.

  4. Perennials are certainly easier to care for and less costly than replanting annuals every spring. Yarrow has always been a popular plant.

    1. Beatrice,
The height of yarrow makes it good for creating a meadow like flower border bed.

Yarrow is a sturdy plant that grows on its own wonderfully.

    1. Janice,
The yellow yarrow is the next addition to my tiny garden.
I expect next year there will be minimal planting to do.

  7. As April begins and the rain pours down, bringing its healing and cleansing effects, I'm eagerly anticipating the months ahead. There's a lot happening—I'm currently working on new promotional videos that will be released shortly, and collaborating on both fresh and familiar tunes with a larger ensemble of musicians for upcoming festivals and intimate backyard gatherings. This update could be beneficial for those seeking assignment help in understanding the creative process and musical collaborations.

  8. We had the pink yarrow in our garden at the house and I always thought it was so pretty. Haven't seen the wild version of it yet this year but I'm sure it's ready to put in an appearance.

There are places along the side of the road with big patches of yarrow. It is a hardy plant.
