Reflection Monday December 2024

 Winter
How we cope with those long dark days
depends, I feel, on how much we love ourselves.
Do we want dreary shading our days?
Methinks the answer is no.

Think Spring!

  1. I keep thinking…just three weeks and the light begins to return again!

    1. Marie,
      That is a wonderful thought!
January 2025 will be here soon. It is unreal to grasp the year as 2025 when the millennial feels like a few years ago.

  2. Woke up to some white stuff this morning and I'm already wishing for spring. My hands already ache knowing I have to clear the car off before we can do errands.

    1. Maryanne,
      Lotion, lotion, lotion.
I have 2 lotion places that I use to have a pump ready for me to pass by. I miss the little Avon tubes for my purse and pocket.
      Stay warm!

    2. Sadly lotion doesn't do much for arthritis (how I wish it did!).

    3. Arthritis for sure is a bother in cold weather.
Some years my fibromyalgia in winter is brutal. This year, we haven't had enough freezing yet.
I was thinking dry hands. Mine have dried up it seems like overnight. If I don't wear gloves often, then they can get really raw.

  3. Those days are when I dig in and curl up. Read or bake. They're long, but I'm never bored!

  4. I cannot think Spring until after Christmas at least. I do like snow for the holiday. Janice

  5. I don't mind winter too much until February when I just want spring to be here. Reading, sewing, cooking are ways I fill my winter days.
By the way, we started watching the Northern Scavenger video you recommended - so good! Thank you.

    1. Lorrie,
That is great! The narrative and footage of their journey is outstanding. There are a few portages that had me on the edge of my seat. The shorter 2 week video along the eastern coast of Nova Scotia is also fantastic.

  6. I love those snowy Winter days. There's so much white beauty around us. I always bake or decorate the house or even take a ride downtown to get a coffee. You got some snow? What a pretty picture of the pine dangling in the snow. I've always appreciated your Vermont snowy pictures, May.

    1. Sheri,
No snow so far in my yard.
Speaking of decorating, Jeri Landers has a lovely video on YouTube for making cinnamon ornaments.

Reading has to have a designated hour set aside or else I'll forget what I was reading. :)
