Common Gulls on Dead Creek February 2018 |
Ah, how wonderful it must be to spread one's wings while gathering with friends surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Many gulls, ducks and geese gather at the Dead Creek Wildlife Refuge all through the year. In winter when the creek waters freeze, the images for photographing them can be as lovely as in the autumn.

The Canada Geese and seagulls stay here all winter. It wasn't all that long ago I remember the geese always going south but I guess the fact that we get lighter winters (not this year!) encourages them to stay.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteAfter this winter's cold, the gulls might decide to go south next year.
I love the geese. I know this sounds crazy and it WAS! There was a small flock of Canada geese in our backyard yesterday. I went crazy running for my camera! lol
ReplyDeleteDiane,
DeleteMaybe that snowstorm that hit the South sent the Canada Geese looking for warmer places.
That is such a pretty picture of the sea gulls on the frozen creek waters. I like "design Valentine cards." There's nothing like homemade cards.
ReplyDeleteHave a pleasant February week ahead.
