Winter Thoughts

Gloves & the Little Shovel

Sitting outdoors after cleaning off vehicles, I am thankful I can still get around well enough  to swish away the snow. When I look at the photograph above, I think of summer and what fun it will be to take a picture of my gloves and the little shovel in June.

It is my vehicle shovel. The birdseed deck shovel I only use there. So the little one stays inside.

I’ve also been inside these cold days as my left knee is too sore for much walking. Thankfully, I’ve had the knee injection today. I ouched-winced because I forgot to relax. (a real wimp i was) My last shot was 2023. It is easy to forget in all that time.

At 5:30 PM EDT in the Northern Hemisphere, there is still daylight! Happy I be about that!

  2. You are so awesome to clear the snow off your vehicles. It's something we have to do when we get a snowfall. We had so much snow that I had to use my big shovel. The little scraper I use to scrape the snow off the heaters outside. I hope your knee starts to feel better soon. : )

    1. Sheri,
Folks help each other clean off cars. Mine was clear by the time I got outdoors. So I cleared other vehicles. It is good exercise.
My long handle brush thing broke off the handle. I have to bring it indoors to warm up for some duct tape. 🤣

  3. I'd be wincing with a shot in my knee, too. I am cherishing the longer days. When it was dark around 5, I was so distressed!

    1. Jeanie,
To be honest, I took wincing to a higher level. Have to say doctor was calm and understanding. I felt better for it, even laughed a little when it was over.

  4. It's always encouraging when the daylight starts stretching out enough to be noticeable. So sorry your knee is giving you grief but hopefully the 'jab' will help.

    1. Maryanne,
Longer days are a real treat!

Jab is a good word, has a short, over quick vibe. Knee feels better, especially when I don’t put weight on it turning the recliner around.

    1. The plow folks brought a little bulldozer thing to pile the snow up higher. Now the snow is melting in the rain.
