Brooms & Dry Mops

Sweeping March Shadows

On lazy days, I grab the broom instead of the vacuum. When it is sunny, every little bit on the floor shows up to make sweeping a must.

Growing up, we used a dry mop nearly every day. What fun shaking out the dust on a windy day. Now there are sweepers you can attach a cleaning sheet to. Comparing the mop with a sweeper system, the mop is the better buy. The sweeper has more plastic and chemical waste to deal with. (Plus, it is aggravating when the cleaning sheet comes undone.) Good old can actually be the good.

As a gift idea, check out a neat little whisk broom. They are handy for a craft room and/or vehicle. Funny, even when I use the word round, Google shows me mainly rectangular dry mops. Searching for a natural straw broom, some prices I see are ridiculous. I found one at a reasonable price at Staples of all places. Presently, I use a synthetic plastic angle broom. I like the way it can squish its way into little spaces.
