Day 81 of Week 12 March 2025

Secondary Leaves

Secondary leaves showing on seedlings the first day of Spring is such a delight, if I had one knee transplant, then I’d dance with joy.

Alas, celebration activity changes with age. Two cannoli is good as a waltz for me. I smile.

What’s going on :

My order for bug spray and anti-itch cream has arrived. The sun is shinning bright without much competition from clouds. Puttering this Saturday will be my exercise.

A new on-going is the challenge to see how long I can keep the dinning table cleared. I notice the rocking chair close by is piling up like plowed road snow at the end of the driveway. Not going to let it spill over to the table.

Have a Rocking Fun Weekend!

Sing to your favorite window
Make egg salad sandwiches
Bake a custard strawberry pie
Try a new flavored tea
Shop online for planters

  1. You always share a delightful list. I need to try a new tea. I got green tea at the store today, which is a favorite. Have a peaceful weekend.

    1. Sheri,
There are so much good info on green tea, I’m going to try to get use to it again.

  2. Some of my seedlings are forming secondary leaves, too. I'll soon plant out kale and lettuce. Garlic is sprouting and I'm hopeful that I'll soon see carrots, spinach and radishes. Isn't gardening inspiring?

    1. Lorrie,
      Yes, gardening is inspiring.
I was just looking on the Burpee website at corn you can grow in containers. Three 5 gallon buckets with corn growing, I hope will make a nice deck screen this year.

  3. Hah - we call the pile on the chair the galloping ick in our household. Clearing off one space with determination to keep it clear just leads to the 'treasures' piling up elsewhere. It's like me wanting to repaint our living room, knowing full well the 'GI' would take over and I'd end up having to do the entire apartment. Nope....not going to succumb. We never have company anymore so who cares what the paint looks like.
Re egg salad sandwiches, the RC made a version this week that had avocado and eggs....yum.

Mashed avocado in egg salad sounds delicious!
Paint for you. You are worth the new color.

    2. It was delicious! As for the paint, the pain isn't worth the gain (my shoulder has been giving me grief so I don't want to aggravate it).
