On Losing the Flock
Are there days when you know how that lone Canada Goose feels?
As a child, I remember the fear of returning home worrying everyone is gone. In the 1950s at noon when the siren went off, we were reminded that gone in an instant is real.
Here in 2025 many Americans are on the banks of that creek with no canoe in sight, worrying how to navigate the life they had the day before an executive order made them illegal to be who they are, fired/cut off their income and more. Fear is real in America.
This is, I believe, the month of my blog anniversary. For the 17 years I have been posting, I always appreciate the readers that visit and comment here.
This blog will continue to post photographs, day of year lists and Reflection Mondays. I might add a monthly update. For now, I’m stepping back lest I add to my fears by posting more protests against what is going on in America. It gives new meaning to the phrase…there are no words.
Happy Anniversary! You have to take care of you first. See you when you’re ready!

Yesterday I saw daffodils and forsythia in bloom. It is nice to see pockets of Spring blooming.

DeleteReading blogs that long is interesting as bloggers have kids in high school now or married.

Happy Blog Anniversary month. Your description of the goose losing its flock and life today is so astute and apt. I'm glad you are continuing to write of what is happening in our world and its effects. And again, Congratulations!

Near every day there is another outrageous article. How potus is allowed, in America of all places, is a mystery only 2nd to why is there life on Earth.
