🦟 I don’t know for sure if it works but I’ve been using citronella candles on my deck for years. My thinking is in the sun, the heat, they melt enough to give off their bug repellent odor. I don’t light the candle.
I bought one of the long candles on a stick to put in a large planter. So far, no mosquitoes.
🩴My old sandals & lotion tip is to not wear smooth footbed sandals when you lotion your feet if it is raining or wet outdoors because lotion and water on a smooth surface is like walking on ice. Not a good thing.
🎒In my back pack in the pocket close to my back, I place a freezer pack in a plastic bag so it is next to my spine cooling me off some; and, as an emergency cool down aid.
🧊In a cooler chest in the trunk of my vehicle, I put freezer packs for shopping item that need to be cold; and, also as an emergency cool down in summer.
Always keep a summer first aid pack in your car
Always review hot weather safety tips at or before summer starts

P.S Stupid thing I did, in the shade, planted two plants and watered them. A leg muscle ached standing back up something awful. Back indoors, felt very drained and a little shaky. After drinking more and food, I feel better. Noted, I’ve been hydrating all day. Eating, not so much.
It surprised me how drained I felt after being outdoors less than 20 minutes in the shade.
Do Not Take Chances!
Stay cool, hydrated and fed!
