Have you ever felt an urge to just move someplace or change your life into something else but have no idea where or what? There must be a name for it.
Ah! The word wanderlust just popped into my brain. The feeling is along those lines except you don’t feel like traveling a lot. It is similar to feeling burn out.
Maybe I’m burned out being elderly!? Nah. I think with all the creative things I have to do, I need a hobby focused on self-improvement. I didn’t get far learning Chinese. Maybe trying Irish will help.
We often want to experience places where the grass grows greener. But often times, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Vermont is one of the beautiful states I've heard. There is always something we don't like where we live, but here in the mountains the beauty and peace outweighs all of that.

Sheri,
DeleteIt is beautiful here as well.
Watching short videos of open spaces in America tugs at the heart.

When we travel the backroads, I always imagine how it would be to live in the small towns. I look at which house I would want as we go. I think I long for small town living like I had growing up in Arkansas. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDiane,

I haven't wanted to move anywhere else until the past two or three years. Our town is expanding in a big way which is creating all sorts of headaches with just being able to drive anywhere. Having a jail closeby leads to a lot of 'undesirables' being let loose into the town and many of them have decided to stay, leading to it not being safe to walk anywhere like we used to. We have a lovely path along the river that we can access practically outside the door of our building but sadly there's a homeless encampment that's blocking it further down and it's not a place we feel safe anymore. If it weren't for the good friends we have here I'd be more than happy to move.
