Seasonal Issues

There are days when my thinking slides into reality like slipping on black ice. Listing the positive and negatives of life for review is a good thing to do. It forces me to yank out good things that I’d rather brush off as a fluke, not really meant to be.

But they are.

We are all meant to experience good.

Dwelling on the bad times is not good.

Feeling that life has too much negativity is normal.

Having it be the truth is a problem.

What to do about it varies. I'm sure talking to a trusted love one, friend or therapist is positive start. Then comes the work we have to put into ourselves.

Presently, this time of the year putting away summer and bringing out winter things can be a mess of indecision, clutter rising, and let's go outside to look at the leaves instead of box up this crap. Everywhere I look there are small areas of stuff needing attention. The pressure to get it all done makes me want to go out to buy potato chips.

Anyway, I won't buy them. I'll buy a candy bar* instead.

    1. Marie,
A slow transition is a nice pace to have.
I’ve been avoiding winterizing the deck because it represents the last bit of summer.

    1. Debbie,
A tip, the Chunky doesn’t have as many raisins as I remember. Next time I’m going for the Snowcaps.

  3. Sometimes you need a chunky. I haven't had one in ages and it sounds really good!

    1. Jeanie,
Once in a while, an old time candy bar can bring a bloom of happiness.

  4. Oh yes, the dreaded change of seasonal 'stuff', not something I like facing. I've done the hauling out of the long-sleeved tops and put away the t-shirts but have to do a deep dive into the coat closet to see what might need replacing. I really should get new winter boots but just the thought of going shopping for them is off-putting. I've put off buying new ones for at least two winters and no doubt I'm going for a third. I don't care what my feet look like.

    1. Maryanne,
As long as the feet stay dry, the boots are good.
I try to buy the same brand online so fit isn’t a problem. The problem is makers change styles too often.

  5. Ooh, I think I'd give in to the potato chips, despite loving dark chocolate. Beautiful light in your photo.

    1. Lorrie,
There’s favorite trees that change color beautifully that are dependable photo sources. This drought year, however, one is turning color in sections. It looks weird.

  7. There is always stuff to do, and it seems like things pile up at times. But making lists is a great way to get things done one by one, little by little. I love this photo you shared today!

    1. Sheri,
The foliage at this lower elevation feels like a 2nd leaf peeper season.
      Have a wonderful week!
