Crafts

Hello to a bright sunny morning here in Vermont

In contrast, the sunshine obscures the vacuuming that I did yesterday by showing every grain of dust. That will be fixed when I wash the floors.

Anyway…

This winter, I have the feeling that  crafts will be a go to entertainment. Lining up projects that push away cabin fever is a yearly fun activity. Reading is top on my list. Fiber crafts is right after painting and writing.

I bought a cool swing arm extension clamp on desk lamp from the thrift store. Add that to a small one bulb shop lamp, I’m set for lighting.

I’m hoping my desk/craft table will be cleaned off soon. There’s been cause to pile stuff up there. I’m keen on painting again and making the felt holly garland I found on a link in the blog, Magpie’s Mumblings.

Are there craft projects you have lined up?

  1. It's been quite rainy today so I decided to do some vacuuming!
Then of course I rewarded myself with a nice cup of tea.

    All the best Jan

  2. My husband and I always have a raft to do with the grandkids when they come for a Christmas sleepover. We always have a great time with the kids and crafts!

  3. Marie,
    Wishing y’all happy crafting!
Making salt dough ornaments is one if the best holiday memories. May mother kept hers for over 25 years. Sealing them really works.

  4. I like your blue lamp. I think I'm mostly done crafting for a bit but who knows? I love doing it -- just other priorities right now. I'll have to check out that holly garland.

    1. Jeanie,
The holly garland is one of those you can prepare and assemble adjusting the pattern to the size you want.

  6. The dust always seems to reappear in force after vacuuming, so a good reason not to perhaps? No specific craft projects in mind, but reading is always on the list and not considered a craft, but a necessity.

Reading, I believe, helps balance the mind.

  7. Craft projects are so fun to work on, but I haven't done them in years. Although I did decorate for Christmas already, and am enjoyed the festive cozy space. I've always thought home decorating was a form of crafts too. ; )

      Sheri,
Home decorating us interior design. Design is artwork. Making things is the craft part. Flower arranging, I think of as a craft. So the line between what’s a craft and what is artwork blurs a lot.

  8. Dust - I wonder where it comes from because it never seems to go away no matter what we do. In the throes of doing the final Christmas gift prep and starting to wrap things so I'll soon be able to get back to doing some fun things for myself. Thanks for the shoutout!
