Thoughts About the Holidays.

🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃

On this American Thanksgiving, I’m not celebrating the traditional way. I roasted a turkey a few weeks ago. Besides, I don’t have a fireplace, can’t play tag football, and, there’s no dinner I must attend. I will, however, partake in pumpkin pie and dressing with cranberry sauce. Not able to chew just yet, easy food is appreciated. I have fun projects planned.

The season of donate, donate, and donate begins. Add that to the constant news about holiday sales, the joy of the holidays can be smothered under it all. Donating is good anytime of the year. Supporting businesses is always important.

How do we create a balance that leaves us room to enjoy without guilt trips and worry our economy will collapse?

Blend. Allow all the aspects, the parts of the season to be wrapped in joyful emotions. Let the oh-no-not-again feeling wait until January. Plan your happiness. Create new traditions and embrace the old ones. Attend  concert, a craft sale and or watch holiday movies.

  1. The month of December is the one most difficult to maintain balance. There can be so many assaults on our time, wallets, and self-esteem. It is good to anticipate them and to plan for ways to resist.
I wish you a most Happy Thanksgiving, Maywyn.

  3. So good of you to donate. It's the perfect time of the year for that. I also like your suggestion, create new traditions and embrace the old ones.

Happy Thanksgiving to you. I'm thankful for your friendship. : )

      Sheri,
A favorite charity is the Salvation Army. My mother rang the bell when I was a kid.
      Happy Thanksgiving

  4. These are thoughtful observations, May. I'm glad you get to have the Thanksgiving you choose. It will be a different season for me -- or at least at the top of it. So, yes. Maybe new traditions!

      Jeanie,
A few years ago I made a new tradition. Today, I don’t remember what it is.
😂😳 I made another one. Today, change fall decorations over to Christmas.

  5. This is the time of year we seem to get showered with letters begging for donations. All we can do is choose the ones that we can afford and that are important to us. For us it's the food bank and the Salvation Army. We also always buy a toy to donate to the local Kinsmen group that makes sure kids have a Christmas.

      Maryanne,
The day the bell ringer has a card device will be like sci fi city.
