Thoughts On Napping

First thing Monday morning this week, I had a cataract removal procedure done on one eye. The rest of the day all I wanted to do was nap. I think that is a normal reaction to the release of stress. I had one short nap.

The next day, I was keen on having a nap after my yearly doctor’s exam. Alas, I had a surgery follow up appointment that afternoon. But, I fit in another short nap anyway.

At 3 AM EDT Wednesday, guess who is still awake. 😂

I’m just starting to yawn.

Later today, there will be no napping.

    1. Thank you, Marie
The procedure is delightfully short compared to others.

  2. I wish I could nap. I try but I just can't, even when I'm exhausted.

    1. Jeanie,
Not being able to nap is sad. Maybe a session of clear meditation can replace a nap. I think it has a similar feeling.

  3. There's nothing like a good nap during the day. I hope you heal nicely from your eye procedure. Have a pleasant November week.

  4. My cataract surgery was a few years and while I do recall that it was painless and yes napping is a good idea which is what I did as well. Hope your recovery goes great!

    1. Beatrice,
Thank you. The eye is doing well, better than I thought it would be. The change in sight is remarkable. I understand now why people are so happy they had theirs done.

  5. The worst part about cataract surgery is the regimen of drops afterwards. Trying to keep track of them is a challenge, especially if you have eyes done two weeks apart like I did. You're not done with one series of drops and then you start into the second eye that's on a completely different schedule to the first eye by that time. I'm sure you'll be more than happy that it's done and how much better you will see. Just be warned that you will likely really need sunglasses outside because the light seems so bright.

    1. Maryanne,
Oh my! Spot on about that pesky drops! It takes time to remember them.
The other eye is in January. I want to make sure all is well with #1 before fiddling with the 2nd eye.
Thank you. I wear sunglasses often now. The light is quite bright. I didn’t expect that.

  6. I really wish I could nap but I know it's not a good idea because I have such a hard time sleeping at night anyway. The RC, however, can have several naps and still sleep at night. I try not to hate him for that.

    1. Maryanne,
Laughing here. I’m glad you cope with the resident napper. He does cook.
