What’s been going on in the World isn’t what it was a year ago. The suit, the uniform, the fashion changes because that is what living does, moves on. What made us concerned, sad, anxious or happy is in the past, peeled away by time.
We are here in the days of 2026. The weeks going by fast are here with us in them. Yet, like this morning, I feel no spin , no breeze blowing by, no adventure or lovely landscapes racing by. Going fast? What fast?
Being the fan of list making, I’m going to list a page of things that I might fancy to do in 2026.
To start:
Find a signature font I like as my own
Learn a foreign language
Bake biscuits from scratch
Learn to make homemade bread and pasta
Join or start a low impact walking & hiking group
Start a plein air painting guild
Lose weight on purpose
Down size by 60%
Visit love ones
Become a fine art photographer
Do not buy another spiral big notebook
Have breakfast at an old diner
Sew a dress of my own design
Make a quilt
Crochet a winter hat
Read biographies
Dance daily
Paint and draw daily
I will think of more to write on paper so I can cross things off when they are done and add things as I go.
Have a fun weekend!
Read how boots are made
Bake a lemon meringue pie
Browse online mugs with tea diffusers
Draw a Nordic design
Listen to a film score
Discover your state poets

I love your list, Maywyn, and smiled at "Do not buy another spiral big notebook." Notebooks and sketch books are my downfall, too. I would like to paint and draw daily. I need to find a place where I can leave everything out so it's there ready for me.
ReplyDeleteLorrie,
DeleteOh my that is a relief to know spiral notebook buying isn’t just me! It’s the blank pages that lures me, the hope and adventure they represent. 😂
A handy tote bag for sketchbooks and art supplies, so far, is working well for me.
It is easier to keep around than a backpack.

“Downsize by 60%.” I would love to accomplish that one!
ReplyDeleteMarie,
DeleteBring hopeful can move lots of stuff. 🤣
I always make my list on paper. And the first thing I put on the list is "Make list." Then I can cross it off and feel productive!
ReplyDeleteJesnie,
DeleteThat is a fantastic idea! A huge motivator !

Ah - the lure of buying (or being gifted) new notebooks is one I know well. From where I'm currently sitting I can see four that I've never used and I know there are two more in my knitting basket. I purchased one to replace one I've used to keep track of the landscapes I've done and then I simply had to (?!) buy the matching larger-sized one, simply because they're so pretty. Why? I don' t have any inkling of a use for the second one and there it sits, giving me the evil eye of guilt.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteNotebooks have minds of their own.

This is a great list! I need to make one too.
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteTry starting with how Jeanie does hers with make a list at the top.
It will make the list more fun.
