Thinking About Snow Storm Preparations?

Are you ready New England and New York for the snow storm on the way?

The weather forecast is 95% chance of snow. It is a good idea to stock up to prepare for a significant amount of snow of 7 inches or more.

In Vermont, we know snow. However, travel on Monday doesn’t feel safe to me. Rescheduling an important appointment also doesn’t feel good. Better safe than sorry, I believe, is the right idea. I may get to where I need to be, but I also might get stuck there with no way safely home.

How much snow is the answer we all want to know. The last snowfall, (nice powder), in my area was more than I expected. The snow starting this weekend will be different. Is there a chance the inches will be less? I don’t know. I also don’t know how I felt the first time I saw snow.

Speculating here, it doesn’t matter. The forecast is reliable enough to prepare well.

Stay Safe

  1. I hope you stay cozy and warm at home and watch the snow rather than drive in it.

    1. Lorrie,
Good advice. After today, I won’t go anywhere until maybe Tuesday.

  2. We're bitterly cold but so far no real additional snow. I think it's too cold to snow. Looking at the map, the snow part seems to sweep a bit south of us. The appointment thing is a dilemma. I'm trying to decide if I should pick up a prescription today or call it good till Monday. We'll see.

    1. Jeanie,
      Stay warm and stock up
In winter, I think it is best to take care of errands when the weather allows.

  3. I'm not that far from you-we're hoping for very light (as in not wet snow) so it will be easy to shovel. Seems like it will be as it's so cold. I hope you stay safe and warm.

    1. Debra,
Careful out there. I hope y’all have a snow blower and a power shovel thing. Y’all are south of us. I’m beside Upstate New York, across the lake.

    1. Jan,
That’s amazing. Big storm hype on the news, makes storms feel like the end of the world. The good side is that it encourages people to be prepared.

  5. We seemed to get a portion of the snow points further south got, but it was cold.
