For months I browsed online for a living room area rug. I found many I love. The issue about buying is that I want non-slip backing, no need for a pad underneath, good reviews, and under fifty dollars.
A home environment, I feel, is important to mental health. The problem is justifying the costs. Also, matching a rug to a room can be tricky.
I saw gorgeous rugs that don’t go with my eclectic decor. You can make sand box in your living to put your feet while you sit in a beach chair daydreaming, but it will never be you at the beach no matter how many margaritas to slosh down. Matching is a must.
I finally found an area rug on Amazon that fit my criteria, (best of all my budget). The amazing thing that stands out is the transformation from just a room to a real cozy living room.
Does your decor match you?

Our decor is all different and it does match our personalities and has many stories to tell. When we move around here, the places are already furnished so we just add our art to the wall.

I love your new rug. Our decor really matches our personalities I think. Plus we have a lot of really old things from ancestors, so that makes it unique.
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteOld things from ancestors are a treasure to have.
Keeping that history close is a comfort from the past to the present.

I know what you mean about an area rug. There's not too many out there that I'd like in my house, but Jess got me one years ago, and I still love it. Your area rug has neutral colors, so it will go nicely with most things. Yes, my decor matches me. I love eclectic things too, and vintage, and a few things that have meaning to me. : )
ReplyDeleteSheri,
DeleteA gift rug us even more beautiful through the love it shares.

The only place we have any sort of rug is for use in the bathroom. Otherwise we're stuck with carpet and don't dare put an area rug on top because of the tripping hazard for the RC.
