What Is a Fun Week Anyway?

A fun week, methinks, has more good moments than sorrow or grimness going on. On the idea of time going by too fast, viewing how our life flows might slow down how we perceive the passage of time.

The other day my timer and the washer did not match. There were 6 minutes left on the rinse cycle (commercial washer). I don’t like standing around. How to make time go by faster? Hm? Thinking, minutes can fly by when I daydream of dancing the two step with an old cowboy in the full Moon light (bucket list). Wha La! The wash is done.

Now I’m thinking of what makes a fun week. Avoiding grim things is a good move, as long as they aren’t things that can't be put off. Keeping busy with productive projects is also a good move.

What makes a fun week for you?

Picnics are great fun! In the snow, maybe around a nice campfire.

  2. Having no appointments or schedules, having food and goodies in the house, hot coffee, interacting with my kids, whether it's in person or sweet e-mails. I hope your week is a terrific one. ; )

    1. Sheri,
      Your week sounds perfect!
Happy today, I bought a glass storage jar for lentils. A good lentil soup with garlic toast is great in winter.

  3. I love your description of a fun week. For me, it is at least one encounter (or more) with a good friend or friend gathering; time with Rick to be able to just talk, hang out, play a game; no solid schedule except for fun and more good things than bad!

  4. Happy ๐ŸŽ‰ 2026, May, if a little belated, but then there is still much of this new year left. A good week was last week when using the crock pot for 3 meals meant leftovers for the rest of the week. Lentil soup and homemade bread will be on next week's menu when it's my turn in the kitchen as this week it is Patrick's domain. A good week this week is finishing the new Inspector Lynley novel by Elizabeth George, a hefty tome of over 600 pages.

  5. A fun week for me would be spending some time with my two best friends (which happens pretty much every week and has for over 40 years) and time in my sewing room puttering with my latest landscape. Even better would be a week where I didn't have to set foot outside doing errands.

    1. Maryanne,
Friends do boost happiness energy. No errands to do sounds wonderful especially for winter. Sitting on the porch is good fresh air enough,

    1. Debbie,
Being at home is wonderful in winter. In summer heat, home or away, wherever there’s A/C is good.
