Reducing the furniture area is the difficult task. Selling can take a long time. If the piece has solid value, then, I feel, that is the best option. By the dumpster or curb is the easiest as there is no fee and stuff will usually be gone in hours or days. Bringing it to the transfer station is another easy option, but with a fee. Finding a person that wants it is a good option.

What about other stuff like dishes, knick-knacks, artwork? I think thrift stores are good for those items.
Thankfully for me, the majority of dishes and knick-knacks are thrift, yard or rummage sale buys. I donate things back to a thrift store to make room for more. And, I’ve downsized the items I will consider buying as well as limited buying. An item has to be on my radar and at a good price. I have passed on things I’d love to have because they were priced too high.
For example, I can’t justify buying a vintage pair of wood snowshoes at $125.00 to hang on my wall just because I love snowshoes. I don’t even live in a cabin. 😂
