Sweeping away old ideas, projects & such

Any week now
Pansies 2025

Spring. It is a good season to sweep out cobwebs. Having old ideas and such drag on from year to year may not move any dials but, they can clutter pathways.

I decided to take whale watching off my things to do. If a boat I might be on isn’t bigger than the ocean creature, then there’s no reason for me to go looking for it.

All I have said, I post once again, in a mood swing moment about if I win the lottery top jackpot, are void. That swimming pool will not happen.

Moving to Europe, buying forest land in Scotland, a cottage in Ireland, are off my dream list.  My income will never reach high enough to finance my dreams.

A zip line ride is a folly I will no longer consider. I would, however, ride (again) the Coney Island roller coaster. The salsa factory and clothing line will continue in my dreams  for someday. The jewelry design company will not. Learning to fly a helicopter will continue.

New dreams are in order.

  1. I'm with you in whale watching. Much as I'd like to see them in person I'm too scared to go out in a boat, no matter the size of the boat. And zip lining is a solid no - and I suspect the roller coaster would be too.

    1. Maryanne,
Watching a 3D film is good enough.

    1. Marie,
Hope is what keeps us going. The more it is needed, the stronger it becomes.

  3. This was a fun read of things you have taken off your dream list. Now here are a few of my own: riding in a helicopter, flying in a small plane (done once and never again), no zip lining for me as well, no mountain climbing or skiing, travel to certain countries is off my list, permanently,

    1. Beatrice,
Not traveling to certain countries, I am with you on that.
Outside of America, the one of the two places I would like to see in person is the pyramids of Eygpt.
The first is Nazareth, just the land, not the tourist places.

  5. Dreams are highly malleable! And there is always time to dream a new dream, or alter one you already have. I hope the pansies soon appear for you. They are such dainty flowers.

    1. Lorrie,
That is a good idea, to alter a dream.
The pansies that reseed begin breaking ground the end of April into may. They are
      fun to transplant.

  6. I think we all rethink things as time goes by. Some just aren't as interesting as they were when we put them on the list! Others, as you mentioned, are financially challenging.

    1. Jeanie,
Travel and starting a business are really expensive. A small business being as expensive as a larger one that makes no sense to me. I appreciate the protection of regulations. On the other hand, some feel like they choke the fun out of doing business. An art studio, for example, no food or drink in the painting area. Banning a wine spritzer as I paint feels unnecessary. 😂

  7. It's nice to have new dreams. I wish you all the best, and may your dreams come true. : ) I think you would like "A Castle for Christmas." It takes place in Scotland, and it shows beautiful landscapes, and the town is charming.

  8. Sheri,
The film sounds wonderful. I’ll search my smart TV for it.
May your dreams come true as well.

  9. I do like pansies, that is a lovely photograph.
Out shopping this week and one of our stores had some beautiful bunches/bouquets of tulips.
    Flowers are so cheerful.

    All the best Jan

The bulb glowers are showing up at our grocery stores as well. They are a delight to see.
