You hear a bird.
You look in the song’s direction.
The bird is spotted.
Camera ready, you position to take a picture of the bird.
There is no bird in the frame because it flew away, moved to another branch or behind a branch.
A downy woodpecker was spotted in a tree. I end up photographing a starling behind a branch. No woodpecker in sight. Sigh.

The story of my life!
ReplyDelete🤣 That’s a good spot on for life, Jeanie.

Awww-hope the woodpecker will come back for his picture to be taken!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteDowny woodpeckers don’t show up around here very often.
It is nice to know the trees it likes.

We have downy and hairy woodpeckers at our suet feeder several times a day all winter long. Sadly I can't get pictures because all our windows are covered with screens which doesn't lead to good photos.
