What about all those ads?

Typing every post here starts with clicking a Blogspot font choice twice because the first time stays in the default font. It’s a minor glitch not worth reporting to Google.

In life, the fork in the road between essential and non-essential has a zone of sunshine that there are still choices in our control.

When you begin to fear you aren’t as sharp as you use to be, then it is time to engage in regular brain exercise, research a better diet, and/ or talk with your doctor.

Playing brain exercise memory games, matching objects, tells me my short term memory isn’t impaired. (I actually do rather well.) What I sense is worry about old age is increasing the closer I am to 80 years, (a few to go).

Add to aging, there are lots of ads and articles about memory loss everywhere.

How much of what you see influences how you feel about yourself?

In your background, what continues to play even when you know it makes no sense?

  1. I guess I pretty much always just use the default font on my blog because it's easier. I switch to italics for a few notes.
You've reminded me that I have fallen off doing the Wordle puzzles but in order to get to them I have to see the headlines in the NYTimes and most of the time I don't want to be reminded of what's going on in the world.

    1. Maryanne,
For Wordle, I use the icon on my browser Home page. No headlines and one ad later the play board is there.

    2. I'll have to look into that - thank you!

  2. I don't think I'm influenced in a way that affects how I feel about myself. I pretty much take myself in stride!

  3. May, I would agree with Jeanie that I do not let others let me feel a certain age. As the saying goes something like, age is just a matter of mind and if you don't mind, it doesn't matter...or something to that effect.

    1. Beatrice,
That’s a good saying. I need to learn that good attitude.
I cringe when I keep seeing the articles about the causes of dementia. I suspect it is sales driven, push folks into buying medication. There was an ad that was around of a very wrinkled old woman that had the same sales vibe.
