Day 149 of Week 22 May 2026

One of the prettiest pansies this year, saving the seeds will be a challenge. Other flowers and vegetables are easy to seed save. Pansies are intimidating.

Weight loss. For years, my weight would stay on a plateau and not budge much outside a 5 pound range. There have been weeks my weight would be the same days in a row. I finally lost six pounds. And what happens? Another plateau. The good thing is that I’m getting closer to my preferred Earthly weight.

Have an Earth Wonderful Weekend

Bake cheesy biscuits
Sing to a flowering tree
Browse hiking sandals online
Read about your favorite poet
Plan a Midsummer’s Night party
Write yourself a thank you note
Shop for a table fountain

    1. Nicole,
The most difficult part of losing weight is balancing proteins with carbs.
Makes a person wish chips were a major protein source.

  3. I haven't bought pansies in a few years.
It is going to be rainy and cold this weekend.
I think I will tuck in.

      Happy Tucking!
I was feeling that way this very early AM before the rain stopped.
Now it is sunny and very windy.

  4. Those pansies are fantastic. I hear you on the weight. I can cope with a plateau though. It's when you've been at that plateau and then gain that you get extra frustrated!

    1. Jeanie,
Frustrated for sure. I no longer walk down aisles to say hello to things I use to buy.
I avoid them as much as possible. 😂

  5. Those are gorgeous pansies! I do hope you'll be able to save the seeds so they can reproduce.

I hear you on the weight plateau. I don't know how many times I've lost and regained the same five pounds. And regarding your previous comment - how wonderful it would be if chips WERE a protein source!

    1. Lorrie,
Crying about weight gain can release some of the sadness.
Then change around recipes and enjoy a weight loss.
Those pansies would make a beautiful shady flower bed border.

  6. Several years ago I lost quite a bit of weight but sadly it's managed to creep back on and it seems no matter what I do I'm stuck. Stopping eating isn't an option...hah.
As for the pansies - will they self-seed? I know some do.

    1. Maryanne,
Yes, pansies can self-seed. They even show up in sidewalk cracks. They don’t, however, spread like violets and morning glories do.
I suspect your Resident Chef has something to do with your weight gain. lol

  7. The pansies are lovely and in my favorite color as well! It's a shame they don't last all summer because they are such beauties. Congrats on the weight loss and hitting a plateau is always frustrating for anything. I will have to pass on baking cheesy biscuits although they sound good.

    1. Beatrice,
Pansies in cooler shade will bloom all summer. If they keel over from summer heat, cut back they can bloom in the fall.
An observation, the spell check on Blogger would never win often on Wordle.

  8. Did you change your blog name again? Those are the prettiest flowers. I love the purple. I wish you a good June month with many nice surprises.

I went back to the original blog name without my first name in the title.
