After or mid peak foliage, it is not unusual for the weather to have a windy rain storm that washes away a lot of leaves. Today is such a day.
No matter for me because I need to rest my pulled side muscle (internal oblique muscle) that’s between a first and second degree strain given the pain and discomfort. I did so much yesterday, resting and ibuprofen are a must today. If no improvement tomorrow, then I’ll have it looked at.
There are standing tasks in moderation that I can do without causing discomfort. There’s also reading to catch up on.
In that regard, I’m pleased that after years of thinking about it, I’ve moved furniture to clear space for a comfortable reading chair by the patio window. South facing, in the winter, the sun lights up the room. It is also a pleasant place to watch the snow fall. On blustery cold days, I can put my laptop on a side table in front of me, and watch a video of a fireplace to create a warm cabin vibe.
Do you have a reading nook? A comfy place by a window?

So sorry that your pulled side muscle is causing such discomfort ... take care and as you say, if there is no improvement perhaps have it looked at.
ReplyDeleteThose geraniums are a lovely colour.
All the best Jan
Jan,
DeleteThank you. I have ice on it. Tomorrow I expect the soreness
to be less.

I hope your pulled muscle pain eases quickly. I like being able to look out the window when I sit in my chair, and also be close to the fire in the winter. Your new arrangement sounds perfect.

DeleteI remember when you posted about your fireplace room make over.
Pulled muscles are not fun so hopefully yours feels better soon. Alas there's no space here for a reading nook and my comfie chair is situated inside the balcony door which, annoyingly, doesn't have good insulation and in the winter there's often a stiff breeze around it. We've hung a doubled curtain over it that I can pull when there's an east wind and that helps. The RC used to have his chair there but he feels the cold much more than I do so we switched places.
ReplyDeleteMaryanne,
DeleteThe curtain is a good idea. I think that’s in my future as well
because the cold from the patio window is pretty strong even when there’s sunshine.
