Going back to painting takes practice.
Watercolors. If I don’t use them a lot, then I lose my palette edge. If I clean my palette, then I lose a lot of color mixing.
Painting creates relationships with the materials. Changes give reasons to know them all over again. Painting is not as easy as riding a bike.
Using acrylics isn’t like that. Once dry, adding water will not bring back the color.
The November challenge is bringing me back to painting with watercolors.
Take these watercolor sketches for example.

It doesn’t matter what I do, the tall tree will always look out of place scale wise.

| In this color sketch, the hue of the mountains is correct. The gray mauve of the distant forest is correct. |
