Hello November 2026!

White rabbit.* Spoken in true fun on the first day of the month. My phone says 2:47 AM EDT. The clock on the wall says 3:47 AM EDT. Time to put the clocks back an hour.

A superstition vs reality.

Awake from caffeine too late in the day (yesterday), watching a YouTube video for DYI Christmas decorations adds another dimension to my day. There are many good creative holiday decorations out there. Crafting can enhance the happy vibe of the holidays.

Instead of going right into December, I decide to this weekend to create Thanksgiving cards using watercolors. The November holiday sadly seems to be pressed thin between Halloween and Christmas. Card making will be refreshing.

* White rabbit spoken 3 times on the first day of the new month is a superstition to bring luck. Thank you fieldfen.blogspot.com.

For November, a Challenge

Blogger challenges don’t appear to me as being as popular as they once were. It could also be that I don’t read as many art blogs as I use to for me to see challenges.

A challenge to draw every day shouldn’t be a challenge because, as I see it, no matter the skill level, an artist should draw everyday. Years ago I tried such a challenge. Easily distracted, my success wasn’t all that great.

Mixing it up, a challenge to post every day a photo, a sketch, a painting or a craft project in November is the challenge for this blog.

The eleventh month, to me, isn’t all that exciting. A challenge will hopefully brighten up those anticipated blustery days. I will prepare by jotting down notes to help me along, starting 8 days away.

Update: Instead of 30 posts, 4 posts with art done that week. Every day posting isn’t practical for me. There’s too many days when I want to stop blogging as it is.

Welcome To November 2025

Under a partly cloudy sky, the 1st day of November has a crisp and chilly vibe that goes well with hot tea and apple cider donuts.

This is the start of Branch Season. What to do with pencil sketched landscapes all around? There is snow in the mountains, leaves on the ground and birds eager to see the feeders back out.

I’m thinking organizing photos, changing passwords, reading about cyber security, and such is a plan worthy of being top of a November to do list.

For artists, and everyone who has ever thought or said I can’t draw, putting together an art tote is a good idea: sketchbook. pencils, sharpener, eraser and 2 pens. That is basic sketch set up to have handy whether outdoors or in a waiting room.
Sketching trees to research the botanical names can be an interesting goal to pursue.

Pick up a yard of fabric to use for hand sewing while listening to audio books.
Take advantage of that concentration, by learning a new language from an audio course.

November to me is the month of being comfy, cooking and creating.
