Mid January Digging In With Art

Here I go again always brings a song to mind by Whitesnake, “Here I Go Again.” One day I might learn all the words.

Alas, on this mid January sunny day, here I go again sorting through portfolios, strolling down memory lane, being amazed how many years have gone by, and ending up with the determination to finish all my paintings.

Cheeky Chorus: Hahahahahahahaha

To my credit, it is evident that past portfolio sorting decreased the number of watercolors that went nowhere. I am pleased how few there are to finish.

There are watercolors I keep that are unfinished because I can use them for collages, practice, drawing backgrounds or to do a finished painting.

The watercolor (photo below) is the one I’ve chosen to finish. It is from a photograph taken circa 2010. The largest of the small watercolor group, I remember  this painting as a slow one because I was so keen on not making mistakes.

No print out of the photo is attached. It would take me hours if not days to find the photograph. I believe the tree is gone as well. Thus, finishing the watercolor will have to be done from memory. I’ll tape it back on a drawing board instead of waiting until my desk is cleared.
