Beautiful fall weather is perfect for picking your own apples. This morning, Woodman Hill Orchard on Plank road in Vergennes. Vermont was the place to fill my basket with apples. *
Tip, apples are heavy, (and so is my basket).
The next time I will use a cloth bag
and/or bring a sled to pull.
I had a wonderful time.

Oh, these apples look gorgeous. Good to hear you went to the orchard and picked some apples. That's a pretty sturdy looking basket too. Apples just remind me of Fall so much. Yes, an apple pie! And show us if you bake one, please.

But, a basket needs apples in it! I know, you could transfer them over when you got to where you were going. I love this time of year.

ReplyDeleteWish we had a pick-your-own orchard nearby but the closest is probably at least an hour's drive away. So...we buy them at the farmer's market instead.

I had to put the apples on the scale. Next visit, (prices are very good there), I will use a basket I pull on a rope. :)

Wow, orchards are a lot of work at any age. From the road, they look small. Get inside, I am surprised how much ground they cover.

ReplyDeleteThat orchard is magnificent, nice selection, easy to navigate, good prices. There are maps to find the variety you want to make it even easier. It took a couple of tries with the picker pole to learn how to get out of the way of other apples coming at me. lol
