Snow
Memories from 73+ years ago:
Snow was edible
Fills up inside boots
Freezes to mittens
Falls off trees
Has pretty frost shapes
2023:
Snow is not edible
Pull pant hems over boots
Freezes to gloves
Fills unzipped purse
Has pretty designs
❄️
Walking outdoors that day
was a nah. Snow is
intimdating to drive through,
no matter how deep.
Snow is kind of magical no matter one's age. :)
ReplyDeleteNature’s artistry! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteLovely in pictures!
ReplyDeleteMagical, for sure, Becki
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marie
The heavy snow stuck to everything.
Snow sticking to trees, Liz, always creates beauty.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, my grandma would make snow ice cream. I don't think it's safe to do that now-probably wasn't safe then either!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is a Winter Wonderland today. I LOVE IT! Yes, it can be scary to drive in, but it sure is pretty. Enjoy your snow day! Your blog design made my heart sing. : )

Same here with a couple of heavy wet snowfalls in recent days where the trees were magical looking for quite awhile. Interesting to read the comparisons on how thoughts of snowfalls change with years gone by.
ReplyDeleteFunny how our perspective changes as we get older!
ReplyDeleteMy kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
ReplyDeleteWeather you can have. lol
Lorrie,
Pulling pant legs ove boot tops is a skill as a kid, I didn't master. It is no wonder to me I had a purse full of snow after cleaning off my vehicle.
Beatrice,
ReplyDeleteYour blog snow pictures are lovely! The scenery there is brautiful.
Sheri,
The terrain there can be difficult with small ditches ready to catch a tire. The bank of plowed snow at the exits is scary.
More snow is in the forecast. :)
Debra,
ReplyDeleteFlavored snow as a kid was a treat. I remember just chomping away on plain snow. We lived in the countryside/clean snow in those days.
I know what you mean about perception of snow changing. I used to love it when it got all icy, you could slide along the pavements. I used to wonder why the adults weren't as keen as I was!!!
ReplyDeleteJenny,
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. lol
For me it was wondering why the snow isn't as deep as when I was a kid.
I have those memories. And most of those observations!
ReplyDeleteJeanie,
ReplyDeleteChunks of frozen snow in the yarn of my mittens is one of my earliest memories.
