Crafting Signage
The sign is about a yard long by a foot high. A bunch of shells waiting for an idea, lines the top of the 3 glued and back braces nailed together boards, primed and painted with acrylics.
Strange that the rustic look, (hasn't been wear sanded yet), that I imagined now wants old weathered rope on the other 3 sides.
There is an upholstery trim that will work called twisted lip cord.
Light gray or blue? Sand looks ok, but white would be better.
Or should I paint and stress twigs or dowel trim to look like drift wood?
Opinions appreciated
Thank you
I like the drift wood idea

ReplyDeleteDriftwood will look less busy. I have a twig stash that might work.
Blue and white work well together ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you, Jan
ReplyDeleteMost of the shells on top are white. Adding a piece of driftwood on white rope might work.
Blue and white do mix well.
ReplyDeleteI like the rustic look and especially the shell border at the top. I agree the sand could be lighter, but I'm thinking more of a creamy tone, versus pure white. The blue works for me. It's like a nice day on the cape, not a cloudier one! The drift wood concept is interesting. I like the idea of the weathered rope look on the other three sides. It's a wonderful piece!
ReplyDeleteDriftwood for me but whatever you decide will be great!

A smooth mid tone blue and white, not too white is the plan. It goes better with the summer vibe.
Jeanie,
Toning down white is a good idea.
Marie,
There's many branches around to fashion mini driftwood.
It is pretty windy out today. One might fly by the window. I put a bunch near the bird seed for their protection. lol
