The Lampshade

The Lampshade

It was a matter of the lampshade was there. The fabric was there. The glue was there. And, so was I.

On a day when life had light akin to the inside of a wrinkled brown paper bag, I decided to redo my small thrift store vintage boudoir lampshade.

I don't think of it as a finished project or want it to be. The shaman's bag vibe I use to add things, comforts me. Some years there may be more, some years less. I can't add too much because I do use the lamp at my desk.

Still, I have the feeling this year there will be more.

  3. Your lamp shade is very unique. I like all the added fabric you put on. And the gold rose pin adds a special something. It looks a bit Bohemian, which I love. It must look so charming sitting there on your desk. You did a nice job on this.

  5. Nice! Would be a perfect method of storage/display for your jewelry and be an ever-revolving piece of art.

  8. Sheri,
    Bohemian is a good description.
The gold colored pin is circa 1960s costume jewelry that once adorned a straw hat.

Jewelry pieces are perfect to add to the lampshade.

  10. Kathy,
Sorting and moving things around almost finished, there's room now to do crafting. Once beads and such are sorted I will add on to the lampshade.

  11. William,
The fabric remnant pieces were a challenge to fit.

  12. Marie,
A desk lends itself to quiet what to do next moments. Mainly after I clean it off enough to see it. :)

Thanks for your comment on my Friday Funnies about doormats and to respond to your comment about 9 pm. Residents, of course, can have guests visit longer, but if their cars are parked in the residents lot they will need to relocate them as these spaces are for resident's use. There is a city garage which has free parking after a certain hour.
